WHO endorses step towards safer food

World Health Organization (WHO) considering need of safety of food launched ‘free from microbes, viruses and chemicals’ as a theme for this world Health day. Health services in India shared that every year more than 2 million of people across the world die due to food born diseases.

WorldHealthDay11processed food, excessive use of pesticide and fertilizer and food adulteration are the sectors where government can take a step in consideration of food safety. The World Health Organization recommends good hygiene of food; maintain proper temperature, separate storage of cooked and raw food as well as use of clean raw product and water for increasing food safety.
